Eglinton PS pupils clean up at local Rugby Blitz!

26th Apr 2017

Today a team of pupils from Eglinton PS participated in a Rugby Blitz at City of Derry Rugby Club. The team consisted of children mostly from Year 7 along with one child from Year 6 and one from Year 5. We also had Amy who volunteered as the only girl to take part - it turns out that she stole the show by scoring 2 tries on her first ever appearance!  Overall, it was a clean sweep with our kids winning 4 out of 4 matches! I'm told that we were untouchable and that all children were excellent ambassadors for the school. We would like to extend a huge thanks to the following people, without whose help this would not have been possible today, so a huge shout out to Mr and Mrs Lou Johnston, Claire Johnston, Janeen and Ben Pollin, Dr Patterson and Kenny McHugh! These families volunteered their own time to coach, transport and organise the team for today's tournament and we are eternally grateful. The buzz when they arrived back at school was infectious! Well done to all!
